Every patient added into the system needs to have at least one active case in order to begin creating Exam/SOAP Notes. By default, you are brought to the cases tab within the Patient Dashboard upon creating a new patient. must be associated with an active case. 

Most patients will likely have one case. If the Primary Insurance information changes, you may update that information without the need to create a new case.

Users have the option to choose a generic default case that can then later be updated.  This must be done prior to signing any SOAP/Exam notes and the system will alert you as such.
