5.2 Claim Management

This is where you can manage claims, search claims history for filed claims and view the status for Open/Pending/Closed claims & Insurance claims balances.

Go To: BILLING > FINANCIAL > CLAIM MANAGEMENT
MANAGING CLAIMS:

  1. Claim Status: Enter the status type you'd like to search. Choosing 'No Filter' will include all claims regardless of status.
  2. Aging By: Allows you to search claims by 'File Date', or by 'DOS'.
  3. From/To Date: You can select a date range to search & this is limited to a 60 day window timeframe/period.
  4. Payer Group & Ins. Payer: Allows you to filter by Insurance Group or Company.
  5. Patient: Click on 'Patient' to search a specific patients' claims history.

To Preview An Individual Claim:

  1. Action: click the 'Select' drop-down & choose 'Preview' to view a claim
    1. This will show you the format of how the claim appeared at the time it was filed.

To Re-Print A Claim Form(s):

  1. Under 'Action' click the 'Select' drop-down to re-print an individual HCFA 1500 Claim Form.
    1. For bulk re-printing, you can click on the check boxes for selected claims & then click the Print tab (bottom page)

To Close A Claim(s):

  1. Under 'Action' click the 'Select' drop-down to close an individual DOS/Encounter.
    1. To close multiple DOS' you can click on the check boxes for selected claims & then click the Close Claim tab (bottom page)

Generating/Exporting A Claims History Report To Excel:

  1. Click on the check boxes to select individual claims, or click on the check box in the top header to 'Select All'
  2. Click on Export To Excel to download the report in excel format to your desktop.
