5.2 Claim Management
This is where you can manage claims, search claims history for filed claims and view the status for Open/Pending/Closed claims & Insurance claims balances.
Go To: BILLING > FINANCIAL > CLAIM MANAGEMENT
MANAGING CLAIMS:
- Claim Status: Enter the status type you'd like to search. Choosing 'No Filter' will include all claims regardless of status.
- Aging By: Allows you to search claims by 'File Date', or by 'DOS'.
- From/To Date: You can select a date range to search & this is limited to a 60 day window timeframe/period.
- Payer Group & Ins. Payer: Allows you to filter by Insurance Group or Company.
- Patient: Click on 'Patient' to search a specific patients' claims history.
To Preview An Individual Claim:
- Action: click the 'Select' drop-down & choose 'Preview' to view a claim
- This will show you the format of how the claim appeared at the time it was filed.
To Re-Print A Claim Form(s):
- Under 'Action' click the 'Select' drop-down to re-print an individual HCFA 1500 Claim Form.
- For bulk re-printing, you can click on the check boxes for selected claims & then click the Print tab (bottom page)
To Close A Claim(s):
- Under 'Action' click the 'Select' drop-down to close an individual DOS/Encounter.
- To close multiple DOS' you can click on the check boxes for selected claims & then click the Close Claim tab (bottom page)
Generating/Exporting A Claims History Report To Excel:
- Click on the check boxes to select individual claims, or click on the check box in the top header to 'Select All'
- Click on Export To Excel to download the report in excel format to your desktop.
