4.7 Patient Statements

Patient Statements can be generated on an individual patient account directly in Patient Accounting, and this allows you to selectively choose the items that will appear on a patients' statement. You also have the option to manage patient statements individually & in bulk under the Statements page in billing.

A. GENERATING A PATIENT STATEMENT ON AN INDIVIDUAL PATIENT ACCOUNT:

Go To: BILLING > PATIENT ACCOUNTING

  1. Select the individual charges you'd like to include by clicking on the checkboxes for each visit/transaction (Clicking the top check box on the header will 'Select All')
  2. Select Action: Choose 'Patient Statement'
    •  A pop-up window will display with the statement details & you can click on the Print tab to print the statement.

There are more editing capabilities when generating a patient statement from the 'Statement' page. If there is a need to further customize a patient statement, you will want to use the option below as it provides more flexibility for editing.

B. GENERATING & MANAGING PATIENT STATEMENTS IN BULK:

Go To: BILLING > FINANCIAL > STATEMENT

Select The Filter/Criteria For Statements:

  1. Statement Maintenance: You have the ability to selectively change/edit the statement criteria that will filter the patients' to include in the batch.
  2. Amount > = to $: Enter the dollar amount which is the minimum amount owing on patient accounts that you would like to include in the batch.
  3. Haven't received a stmt in: Enter the amount of days since a patient(s) last received a statement (this helps prevent frequently generating statements on patient accounts where they would have recently already received a statement)
  4. Show details since: Similar to a Credit Card statement, you can choose '1' cycle to only reflect transactions since the last statement cycle, or choose a higher number to reflect past statement cycles and include previous transaction(s) history from past statements.
  5. You also have the option to manually edit the Tax ID & Provider NPI field.
  6. Click Search once you are done entering your criteria details & all patients with the applied criteria will display.


To Generate The Statements:

  1. You can selectively click the check boxes for the patients to include in this batch, or click the top header check box to 'Select All' patients.
  2. Click the 'Select Action' (bottom page) 'Generate Statements'.
    • A pop-up window will appear displaying all patient statements & you can click Print to print all the statements at once.
