1.6 Statement Criteria

The Statement Criteria page allows you to create standardized settings that will be applied when generating patient statements.
You can customize & create rules for what displays in your patient statements, and which patients to include when generating statement batches.
At the time you are generating patient statements, you still have the ability to override the set criteria and customize any batch in the moment. This criteria page simply allows you to set the standard base rules that can still be edited at the time you are generating statements.

BILLING > OTHER UTILITY > STATEMENT CRITERIA

SETTING PATIENT STATEMENT CRITERIA:
• $ Amount Greater Than Or Equal To: Enter a ($) value that will be the minimum amount for when patients are to be included in your statement batches. If you enter $1.00 then any patient that has a balance of $1.00 or more will be included in your statement list.
• Haven't Received A Statement In: Enter the amount of days that you would like to have between statement cycles. Entering a value of 28 days will only display patients that have not received a statement within that time frame, & only after this period has lapsed, will patients once again appear in the batch for generating their next statement.
• Show Details Since Last: This controls the transaction details appearing on each patient statement cycle. Similar to how credit card statements work, you can enter '1' to indicate that you only want the transaction details since the last statement cycle to appear. Any previous pending balances will still pull forth. If there is a need to show past transaction details from previous cycles, entering a value of '3' for example, will tell the system that you'd like all transaction details from the last 3 cycles generated to still pull forth.
• Aging Messages: You can enter a standard message that will appear on statements during different aging periods. Enter the desired text: Ex. 0-30 Days '1st Notice Please Remit Payment' & it will display on patient statements.
• Disclaimer: Here you can enter a standard message to display on patient statements. Ex: 'Please call our office (555) 555-5555 to pay by Credit Card'.


CHECK BOXES FOR INCLUDING FURTHER INFORMATION:
• Include Zero Balances: Will include transactions with zero dollar balances for information purposes.
• Send Statement after Insurance Claims Closed: Once Insurance Payments are applied, transaction details will appear with details.
• Include Credit Balances on Statement: Will include any credits a patient has on their account.
• Include UAC on Statements: Will include any payments applied to a patient's account as a UAC (Unapplied Credit)
• Provider NPI & Tax ID: You can enter this information if perhaps the statement will be used for official accounting purposes and/or remittance.
Once the desired criteria is set, click Save Criteria to save these settings.
