Editing/Deleting Posted EOB/ERA Check Payments

Once an EOB/ERA Insurance Check is posted & closed, it will appear under the posted checks section. This is where you can view all posted/closed check history & see details on how checks were posted & amounts distributed.

  • Go To: BILLING > CLAIM CENTER > EOB-PAYMENTS > CLOSED CHECKS

To Search Posted/Closed EOB:

  • Optional: Search by Insurance, Check Number or Check Date

  • Click on Check Number to view Check

 

To Make a Simple Edit to a Closed Check:

If the date of service does not have another check posted on top of it you will be able to make simple edits such as:

  • Changing the allowed amount

  • Changing the adjustment reason

  • Changing the responsible party

    • If the responsible party is switched to the insurance, it will mark the insurance claim as filed.

 

To Revert A Posted/Closed EOB Check:

  • After clicking on the check you will be able to Revert the check which will allow you to edit.

  • If you need to revert multiple checks, choose the check boxes you want to revert and click revert. This will put those checks on the unposted screen.

 

To Delete a Check

  • Once reverted, you can click on the checkbox next to the check/checks and click delete at the bottom of the page

  • If you used the Credit Card (OpenEdge) option, you will not be able to delete the check.

 

To Edit a Check once Reverted

  • Once a check has been reverted you will now be able to edit the check

  • Edit Payment and/or Adjustment/Allowed amount or Responsible Party

  • Click Apply payment

  • Continue doing so until you have completed edits.

  • Close Check

  • You can also edit the patient's demographic information by clicking on their name. You can view the encounter details by clicking on the date of service.


To add in Primary Details for secondary Claims manually on a closed check

  • When in the Procedure Details section click on the Claim number

  • Here you will then enter in the CO PR amounts so they will attach to the claim and it will attach electronically to the secondary claim.
